In an effort to share matters of interest — including unique fund-raising ideas — to the guinea pig rescue community, we’d like to bring to your attention Pigstock 2013.
Held on April 27, 2013 at historic Barrington Hall in Roswell, GA, Pigstock 2013 provided a fun and family-friendly environment for animal lovers and guinea pig enthusiasts to come together to celebrate the joys of all things cavy and help raise money for the foster cavies of Atlanta Metro Guinea Pig Rescue.
The event was a smashing success.
Pigstock 2013 Activities
Organized by Laura Sharp, CEO of Atlanta Metro Guinea Pig Rescue, Pigstock 2013 featured a wide range of activities including guinea pig contests, free nail trimming, guinea pig themed T-shirts and other crafty goods, and educational displays regarding nutrition, cages, and bedding for guinea pigs. All purchases went to the benefit of the homeless guinea pigs at Atlanta Metro Guinea Pig Rescue.
The best part of Pigstock 2013? A cleverly presented cake auction where several cavy-themed cakes were sold to benefit Sharp’s rescue efforts.
